Run 5K This Midsummer
There's a real festival feel at this Lincolnshire 5K...
Runners are being invited to be part of a packed weekend of sport and celebration as the Castle Bytham 5K returns on 20 June as part of the popular Castle Bytham Midsummer Festival in Lincolnshire.
Set in the heart of the village, the festival has become a favourite fixture in the local calendar, combining live music, entertainment, a bustling street market and a wide range of food and drink, including more than 20 real ales, with a scenic off-road race through the surrounding countryside.
The 5K trail run promises a memorable route, taking participants along grassy paths and rustic farm tracks that wind through the picturesque Lincolnshire landscape. Friendly marshals will be stationed throughout to guide and encourage runners, while sections of the course pass through private land that is only accessible for the event, thanks to the support of local landowners.
Organisers say the race is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, with well-behaved dogs allowed to take part and junior runners encouraged to join in. Children under the age of 11 can participate provided they have parental permission and are accompanied by a registered adult for the duration of the run.
The wider festival runs across the weekend, offering a lively mix of attractions for all ages, from live performances and craft stalls to family-friendly activities and plenty of food and drink options.
