The Carlisle Santa Dash brings a sea of red Santa suits to the city for a festive morning of running, walking and fundraising. Starting at Bitts Park, the event features a 5K run and a shorter 2K family fun run and walk, with proceeds supporting Jigsaw Children's Hospice.
The 5K takes runners through Carlisle's streets, passing Bitts Park, the Sands Centre and the historic city centre before finishing on Castle Street. The shorter 2K route provides a more relaxed option for families and walkers, passing Carlisle Cathedral on its way to the finish. Both routes use roads and pavements, with marshals helping participants navigate the course.
Santa suits add to the atmosphere, with festive medals awarded to everyone who finishes. The two start times also allow 5K runners to join friends and family for the shorter event afterwards, making it a welcoming Christmas occasion that brings the community together for a good cause.
