The Bury Friday 5 is Race 4 of the Friday 5 Series, a long established six race summer series that has become a popular fixture for runners across Suffolk and Essex. Although many participants compete for series standings, the race also attracts plenty of runners taking part as a standalone event.

Starting and finishing at Nowton Park near Bury St Edmunds, the 5 mile course passes through the park before heading onto private land at High Green and continuing towards Nowton village. The varied route combines parkland, countryside trails and rural paths, offering an enjoyable mixed terrain challenge in a scenic setting.

Junior races take place within Nowton Park before the senior event, making the evening accessible to runners of all ages. With chip timing, a welcoming atmosphere and its place within the Friday 5 Series, the Bury Friday 5 remains one of the highlights of the East Anglian summer racing calendar.
