Branches & Bays is a coastal trail running event in County Durham featuring a 10K race alongside a 5K option. Starting from Hawthorn Community Centre, the routes pass through the protected woodland of Hawthorn Dene before exploring the striking coastline, including Hawthorn Hive and Blast Beach. The mix of woodland trails, coastal paths and natural terrain creates a varied and rewarding off-road experience.
Organised by Trail Outlaws as part of the Urban Trails Series, the event includes chip timing, a fully marked and marshalled course, checkpoint refreshments, free event parking, medical cover, bespoke finisher's medals and digital event photography. Both races are professionally managed with well supported courses and a welcoming atmosphere.
