The Bass Belle 10K is a charity road race in South Cambridgeshire that has quickly become a popular fixture after selling out in consecutive years. Organised in support of brainstrust, the event combines competitive racing with fundraising for people affected by brain cancer.
The route is designed for speed, following a predominantly flat course through the villages surrounding Bassingbourn. Approximately 7.5K is on road with a further 2.5K on private off road sections that are only accessible during the event. The fast profile and limited field size make it particularly attractive to runners targeting a PB.
Starting and finishing at Bassingbourn Village College, the race offers a friendly atmosphere alongside chip timing, bespoke finisher medals and strong local support. Its combination of flat running, rural scenery and charitable purpose has helped establish the Bass Belle 10K as a popular event in the Cambridgeshire running calendar.
