The Black Nore 10K is a scenic mixed terrain race organised by Portishead Running Club, starting and finishing at Portishead Open Air Pool in the Lake Grounds. The course explores the North Somerset coastline, with views across the Bristol Channel and a varied mixture of grass, trails, rocky sections and tarmac.
Runners follow an undulating 10K route along the coast, passing Black Nore Lighthouse and continuing through Redcliffe Bay. A more sustained climb around the halfway point provides one of the main challenges before the route descends towards the coast, with another short climb near the sailing club followed by a fast run towards the finish along the esplanade.
The event welcomes runners of a range of abilities and combines a challenging coastal course with a friendly community atmosphere. The route is marked and marshalled, with a water station and medical support available, while finishers receive a medal and prizes are awarded to leading runners.
