Black Hill Run offers classic Dorset trail running from Bere Regis, with 5K and 10K races following well-worn trails through the surrounding countryside. The two distances start together before splitting at around 3.5K, with the 10K following a figure-of-eight course.
Expect a genuinely challenging trail route with hills, steep sections and stretches that can become boggy. Underfoot hazards can include tree roots and low branches, and trail shoes are recommended when conditions warrant them. Canicross runners can tackle either distance, starting separately shortly after the main field.
The 10K forms part of the Purbeck Trail Series. Finishers receive a medal, with water at the finish and tea and cake back at Race HQ. The event is organised by Bere Regis Scout Group, with profits benefiting the Scout Group and Kingsbere Explorer Scout Unit.
