Birmingham Running Festival May is organised by RunThrough at Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Part of a programme of races held at the venue throughout the year, the event brings together Half Marathon, 10K and 5K distances alongside a supporting junior race in one of Britain's largest urban parks.
The courses follow paved roads and paths through Sutton Park, a National Nature Reserve known for its extensive woodland, heathland and open parkland. The routes feature repeated climbs and descents, with approximately 306 metres of elevation gain on the Half Marathon course. The park's varied landscape and undulating terrain provide a more demanding challenge than a conventional flat road race.
All three main distances are chip timed, with marshals and course markings guiding runners around the routes. Water stations are provided, while finishers receive a themed medal, refreshments and free official race photography. An event village offers baggage storage, toilets and facilities for runners and spectators.
