Beyond Manchester 55K Ultra and 25K Trail Run is organised by Wild Deer Events and starts and finishes at Cathedral Gardens in Manchester city centre. The event offers two trail running distances, with a 55km ultra route and a 25km trail run taking runners beyond the city streets into Manchester’s greenbelt and surrounding areas.
The 55km route combines urban landmarks, canal paths, disused railway sections and trail sections including the Irwell Sculpture Trail, while the 25K course follows a shorter adventure through the Manchester Ship Canal, Salford Quays, Bridgewater Canal and surrounding trails. Both routes provide a unique mix of city sights and off-road running, showing a different side of Manchester.
The event includes fully signed routes, chip timing, feed stations, GPX files, medical support, finish line refreshments and a bespoke finisher medal. With a choice of ultra and trail distances, Beyond Manchester offers an accessible challenge for experienced trail runners and those looking to explore longer-distance running in an urban setting.
