The June Bennachie Summer Series race is the second event in a four race trail running series held on the forest tracks surrounding Bennachie. Starting and finishing at Bennachie Visitor Centre, the 5K course follows woodland trails at the base of the hill, offering a short but challenging off road race with approximately 126 metres of elevation gain.
The Bennachie Summer Series takes place monthly from May to August, with overall results determined by competitors' best three performances across the four races. Race 2 provides an important opportunity for runners to strengthen their position in the series standings while also enjoying a standalone trail race.
Set beneath the distinctive Bennachie range, the course combines forest tracks, steady climbing and fast trail running in one of Aberdeenshire's best known outdoor locations. Its place within the Bennachie Summer Series and accessible 5K format make it a popular fixture for local trail runners.
