Beachy Head Half Marathon forms the Sunday programme of the Beachy Head Marathon Weekend and provides a shorter alternative to the famous full marathon while retaining much of its challenging South Downs character.
Starting from Dukes Drive in Eastbourne, runners head into the South Downs National Park, passing Eastbourne Downs Golf Club and the village of Friston before turning towards the coast.
The route then tackles the spectacular Seven Sisters, one of the defining features of the event, before passing Belle Tout Lighthouse. Runners eventually begin the descent towards Eastbourne and return to Dukes Drive for the finish.
The off road course combines substantial climbs and descents with open downland and dramatic coastal scenery. Runners, joggers and walkers are welcome, with a four hour time limit for completing the Half Marathon.
