The Baystones & Wansfell Fell Race is a challenging Lake District event that takes runners onto the open fells above Troutbeck and Windermere. Covering 6.7 miles with 1,654ft of ascent, the race delivers a classic blend of steep climbs, fast descents and spectacular Lakeland scenery.
Starting from YHA Windermere in Troutbeck, the route climbs onto Baystones and Wansfell before traversing high ground overlooking Windermere and the surrounding fells. The combination of sustained ascent, technical terrain and rewarding views makes it a demanding but highly enjoyable challenge for experienced fell runners.
Run under Fell Runners Association rules, the race is a popular fixture in the Lake District fell running calendar. Its compact distance, significant climb and iconic setting provide a true taste of traditional Lakeland fell racing.
