Barclays Hampden Running Festival 2026

Your Chance To Finish Inside Hampden

Hampden Park has witnessed plenty of memorable finishes over the years. On Sunday 22 November, runners get the opportunity to create one of their own.

The Barclays Hampden Running Festival brings 5K, 10K and junior racing to Scotland's National Stadium, with Up and Running Events creating a morning designed around one of Scottish sport's most recognisable venues.

The main races use fast, spectator friendly laps around the grounds of Hampden Park before runners head inside the stadium for the finish. The flat road course and chip timing should give anyone chasing a quick late season 5K or 10K plenty of incentive, but the location provides an attraction that has little to do with the stopwatch.

There are two separate 5K races during the programme alongside the 10K, broadening the opportunity to take part. Younger runners have their own age appropriate races, with the festival format designed to bring families into the action rather than making Hampden solely an adult race venue.

Spectators should get a good experience too. The lap format repeatedly brings runners back towards the heart of the event before the final journey into the stadium.

Hampden is normally associated with international football, cup finals and some of Scotland's biggest sporting occasions. For one November morning, the pitch side celebrations will belong to runners.

A fast time would be welcome. Finishing inside Scotland's National Stadium might be the part everyone remembers.

Entries are available now via the runABC race hub.
