The Anita Nott Memorial 5K is a women’s only road race organised by Heaton Harriers in Newcastle upon Tyne. Held in memory of former club member Anita Nott, the event celebrates her passion for running and her commitment to encouraging women of all abilities to take part in the sport.
Starting and finishing on Armstrong Bridge above Jesmond Dene, the undulating 5K route provides a challenging and enjoyable evening race through one of the city's most scenic locations. The event welcomes runners of all standards, from first time racers to experienced club athletes.
The race has become a well supported fixture in the North East running calendar, combining competition with a strong community spirit. Marking 20 years since Anita's passing, the 2026 event also supports Macmillan Cancer Support through voluntary participant donations matched by Heaton Harriers.
