TCS Amsterdam Marathon is organised by Le Champion and is one of Europe's largest and fastest city marathons.
The course starts at the Olympic Stadium before taking runners through Amsterdam on a largely flat route designed for fast times. Highlights include a passage beneath the Rijksmuseum, stretches beside the River Amstel, the Heineken Experience and a circuit through Vondelpark before runners return to the stadium for the finish.
The marathon holds the World Athletics Platinum Label and attracts a large international field, with more than 30,000 marathon runners accommodated across two start areas beside the Olympic Stadium.
Runners start in waves according to expected finishing time, with a six hour time limit. Timing is provided through a registration chip attached to the race number, with official results and live tracking available after the race.
