The Alnwick Santa Fun Run brings festive activity to Northumberland, welcoming families, friends, clubs and community groups for a seasonal running event. Starting from The Duchess's Community High School, the run encourages participants to dress in Christmas costumes while raising money for local clubs, trips and charities of their choice.
The route takes participants along pavements and streets around Alnwick, with marshals positioned along the way to help guide runners. Suitable for families and recreational participants, the event focuses on taking part and enjoying the festive atmosphere rather than competitive racing. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The school's Year 11 Prom Committee helps organise the event, with proceeds supporting their prom celebrations. Live music from students, a bake sale, warm drinks and a small Christmas fair provide additional activities at the school, making the Santa Fun Run a community occasion for runners and supporters alike.
