Aberdeen Santa Run 5K is a family-friendly festive fun run along Aberdeen Beach promenade, with hundreds of participants taking part in Santa suits provided by the organisers.
Starting at the Footdee end of the beach, the route heads north along the lower promenade, passing Codona's and the Beach Ballroom. At the halfway point, participants climb to the upper promenade before heading south and dropping back to the lower promenade for the return to the finish. An alternative return along the lower promenade is available for those unable to use the steps.
This is a fun run rather than a race, with no official times, prizes or podiums. Every registered participant receives a Santa suit and finisher's medal, while the event also supports Aberdeen Cyrenians through a collection of food and essential items.
