New for 2020, this 15k trail race takes competitors through some of the most stunning trails between Dore and Totley station in Sheffield and Hathersage station in the Peak District.
Starting at the Abbeydale Miniature Railway across the road from Dore and Totley station, the route goes through the ancient woodlands of Ecclesall Woods, up through the Limb Valley, along the old roman road crossing Houndkirk Moor, through the National Trust Longshaw Estate, down through the mystical Padley Gorge, and then along the River Derwent, finishing at the Hathersage FC foorball ground, near Hathersage station.
The route is a long ascent and then descent, with around 350 metres of ascent over the first 7.5km, followed by a similar amount of descent over the second half of the route. There is a 3 hour cut off for the race, and entries are limited to 250.
Bags can be dropped at the start of the race and will be transported to the finish area. Competitors can get back to the start location either by train, or using the event coach shuttle service.
