News - Discounted Rate Extended For Jogscotland 5k

JogScotland 5kThe closing date for earlybird entries to jogscotland's 5k challenge series has been extended to April 16. The running network, which recently announced a major sponsorship deal with Nuffield Health, will host the first 5k on Wednesday, June 6, at Hazehlead Park in Aberdeen.

News - Records Smashed At Kilomathon

KilomathonA record number of more than 800 runners enjoyed glorious sunshine on Sunday (April 1) at the Edinburgh Kilomathon. In what was the third staging of the 13.1k event, Kenneth Heney set a new course record, finishing in just 48:27!

Wall ClockAh, there's nothing quite like a PB is there? 'PB?' non-runners might ask. You don't really hear much about Personal Bests in other sports.

But it's one of the true beauties of the sport of running. There are goals for everyone to strive for - not just potential winners. Golf has its handicap system which levels the playing field and gives everyone an individual target, but there are few other sports that can really offer personalised goals as running does.

Glasgow 5K LadiesWith the Glasgow Women's 10K just 6 weeks away, this race spy decided to put her training to the test and take part in Sunday's 5K Fun Run in Bellahouston Park organised by the Glasgow Running Network.

Clearly a fairweather runner, on seeing the glorious morning sunshine hubby decided at the last minute that he would take part as well. His decision meant I was down one (my only) supporter, but that was ok - it meant we would have something to talk about over Sunday lunch!
