News - Gebrselassie To Compete In Manchester

Haile in BirminghamEven though he won't be representing Ethiopia in this summer's Olympics, Haile Gebrselassie has confirmed he will be competing in the Bupa Great Manchester Run on May 20. Gebrselassie, who comes to the race after defeating Paula Radcliffe in the Champions Race at the Vienna Half Marathon, will be looking for a fifth win at the Manchester event.

Hoka BondiThe first time I headed out in Hoka One One's Bondi B model on an evening when I was feeling quite drained from a hard day at the office, I struggled. I'm a mid-weight runner, neutral, someone who likes a bit of cushioning to protect hips and knees, but on looking at the Hoka - 'I thought s'truth mate, these babies are a bit on the bulky side'. My colleague said they looked like snow boots. Anyway I had a sluggish run and decided to put it down to the shoe.

Poll - The Barefoot Question

Poll ImageThe recent debate about "Barefoot Running" is a controversial one, with some runners now deeply committed to their minimalist shoes, others still prefer shoes that offer support and cushioning.

The majority of voters continue to say that they prefer to run with as much cushioning as possible, followed by the people who would like to try out minamalist running shoes, with those who already sometimes use minamalist shoes in third place.
