News - Leeds Half Set For Record Entry

Leeds Half MarathonOrganisers of the Leeds half marathon have announced a big increase in entries for the 26th staging of the event on Sunday, May 13. Now part of the popular Jane Tomlinson's Run For All series, the 13.1 mile race has already attracted 4600 runners.

News - Fans Organise Hillsborough Run

Hillsburgh Run LogoSix Liverpool FC fans have organised a 76 mile run to Merseyside next month to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy. The gruelling challenge will see the runners depart on April 12 from Hillsborough stadium intending to make their way to Anfield in time for Liverpool's match against Fulham on April 14.

"I also used to be fanatical about stretching especially before I ran, but I still got injured. Then I became aware of research that questioned its value. I never really enjoyed it so I have reduced it dramatically. I hardly stretch at all before I run but I now NEVER start my actual run without warming up with about 10 minutes easy jogging and a very few light stretches/drills. Even then the first few minutes of any run are easy until I can feel things beginning to ease out."

An interesting result has arisen this week: Most people prefer to run completely alone, with 47% of the vote. Following with 21.2% is a mixed schedule of running, and in third place with 12.1% is running with my mp3 player.
