News - Manchester Set For Big Marathon Day

GM Marathon LogoPlans for the 2012 Greater Manchester marathon are developing apace. The new event is set to fulfil its international ambitions with entries having been received from as far afield as Australia, USA, Malaysia and Hong Kong. There's a strong local flavour too with confirmation that 2004 Olympic gold medallist Darren Campbell and former marathon world-record holder Ron Hill will start the race.

News - 200 Plus Runners Vote York parkrun A Success

York parkrunAn astonishing 216 runners made York parkrun's debut event on Saturday (January 14) an overwhelming success. The unexpectedly large turnout which included contingents from other Yorkshire and north-east parkruns enjoyed the first run on a cold morning at the local racecourse.

Runtalk - Horses For Courses

Chris BroadbentI was in South Devon visiting relatives and rather than go for my customary Sunday long run, I took the opportunity to take part in a local race instead. The oddly-named "Oh My Obelisk' event hosted by nearby club Dawlish Coasters was a low-key multi-terrain 11 mile.
