This weekend is a busy one for the north of England with big events such as the Chester Half Marathon and Brathay Windermere Marathon taking place. The latter has been billed in the past as the UK’s most beautiful marathon and so it is no surprise that the course takes runners through some of the Lake District’s most stunning scenery before ending on the front lawn of Brathay Hall, where a fantastic atmosphere will greet all those who cross the finish line.
For those who like a bit of colour in their lives – Butterwick Hospice’s Rainbow Race on Saturday is just the ticket. Being the first of its kind in the North East, the fun run with a twist will see entrants showered each kilometre with vibrant coloured paint.
