News - Moray Marathon Set To End

Moray 10kThe oldest marathon in Scotland is under threat of ending if new organisers aren’t found soon. Moray Marathon, which includes a marathon, half marathon and 10k, has been held in Elgin for the last 32 years, but following the event committee’s decision to step down last year, looks set to end.

Poll -  What Distance Was Your First Race?

Downhill racersIn our poll this month we want to know what your first race distance was. Did you train hard and start off on a half marathon, or did you decide to see how you faired against others in a 5k first?

So far 10k is the most chosen distance with 44% of the vote. In second place come 5ks with 30%, and half marathons are in third with 15%.

Race Listing

Devilla Forest RunnersYou can find lots of events and results on our race listings page and organisers can add their race details to our event listings by signing up here.

The Carnegie Harriers host their Devilla Forest 15K and 5K trail races this Sunday. Both start and finish within the grounds of the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan, Kincardine. The 15k follows a relatively flat circular loop of Devilla Forest, taking in a mix of fire-roads, paths and single track. The 5k race follows a loop around the Moor Loch. Also taking place this weekend are the Annan River Races and the Kinloss to Lossiemouth Half Marathon.
