News - Roman Shower For Swinney

John SwinneyScotland's finance minister, John Swinney, swapped his usual shirt and tie for a Saltire-inspired running vest on Sunday as he took part in Rome Marathon in wet and windy conditions. The Perthshire North MSP was part of a record 14,608 participants for the 20th staging of the race.

Alarm ClockI am a recent convert to the morning runs. It has not come out of choice, but out of necessity. And yet, I only wish I had done it sooner. I am a proud dad of one-year-old twins and even in the very earliest days of fatherhood, it soon become obvious that my favoured early evening runs would no longer be quite as easy to fit in.

Race Listing

Moray 10k RunnerYou can find lots of events and results on our race listings page and organisers can add their race details to our event listings by signing up here.

Sunday's Moray Road Runners 10K in Elgin returns with a new route. The race is the second in the Northern Scot 10K series, preceded by Nairn 10K and followed by Forres Benromach 10K in May. Also on Sunday, the Stroke Association's Resolution Run series comes to Kirkcaldy and the Running Sisters Tayside 5K gives female runners in Angus the chance to run on a mixture of path, trail and tarmac.
