Brass Monkey RunnersAfter the enforced cancellation of the 2013 race due to inclement weather, excitement is building for this weekend's Brass Monkey Half Marathon in York. The event, set to celebrate its 31st year, is a sell-out with 2,000 runners expected to take part.

News - Training Runs For Chester Half

Chester Half MarathonOrganisers of the Chester Half Marathon have set a series of training runs to ensure competitors stay on track for the race. The series of runs began last Sunday (12 January), and will continue until Sunday 11 May, one week before the event. Now under the direction of Active Leisure Events, the race has taken place over a new course which starts at the Roodee racecourse and finishes outside the Town Hall and Cathedral, in the heart of the city.

Race Listing

Brass Monkey RunnersLast weekend's race results are now available online at northernrunningguide.com.

There are several half marathons being held this weekend. There's the popular Brass Monkey Half Marathon - famed for its warm and friendly atmosphere. Also on Sunday, there's the Inskip Derby Arms Half and Essar Four Villages Half Marathon. The Essar event is a scenic road race through rural countryside, passing through the Cheshire villages of Dunham on the Hill, Mouldsworth, Manley and Helsby. The Inskip Half is a mildly undulating course through Lancashire countryside.
