News - Return For Great Club Challenge

Brat 1The Great Run Club Challenge has returned for a second year to offer English athletes the chance to win prizes such as a trip to Ethiopia. Organised in partnership with England Athletics, the initiative takes place over six events.

Gibside ParkrunThe north east will welcome its 16th parkrun event this Saturday with the launch of the Gibside run. Starting on the beautiful Gibside Estate on the Gateshead and County Durham border, the course is said to be fairly challenging with several climbs over the 5k.

Poll - What Distance Was Your First Race?

Downhill RacersIn this month's poll we want to know what your first race distance was. Did you train hard and start with a half marathon, or did you decide to see how you fared against others in a 5k first?

So far 10k is the most chosen distance with 50% of the vote. In second place is 5k with 31%, and half marathons sit at 12%.

Race Listing

Huddersfield 10k StartLast weekend's race results are now available online at northernrunningguide.com.

The inaugural ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon and 10K will be held on Sunday at the famous Oulton park Motor Racing Circuit in Cheshire. The half marathon consists of six laps of the circuit, whilst the 10k covers three laps. A more established event is the Huddersfield 10K which celebrates its 25th anniversary on Sunday. The Yorkshire race has an undulating course with a fast finish.
