News - Sun Shines On Clyde Ultra

Clyde StrideAfter weeks of persistent rainfall, Saturday's Clyde Stride Ultra witnessed some precious hours of sunshine as runners embarked on the 40 mile race. 119 individual runners and 22 relay teams lined up to hear the starter's pistol fired by Brian MacLeod, store manager of Morrison's supermarket and host of race registration, and at 9am, 141 runners began their journey to New Lanark.

News - Aberdeen Hosts Cameroon Olympic Team

Adam IdrissaRunners from Aberdeen Amateur Athletics Club got to test themselves against an African sprint champion this month as Adam Idrissa took part in the athletics open graded meeting at Aberdeen Sports Village on 13 July. Idrissa won the race comfortably but will face stiffer competition next month when he takes on Usain Bolt in the 100m.

Runtalk - Father Of Marathon Honoured In Stockholm

KanakuriThis weekend saw Stockholm commemorate the marathon runners who took part in the 1912 Olympics with its centenary event. Of the 68 competitors who embarked on the race a century ago, Shizo Kanakuri's journey was perhaps the longest, with the Japanese runner recoding a time of a little over 54 years and 8 months.
