Jogging Pals are delighted to be working with the Canal and River Trust to deliver a trail running / walking event to celebrate the re-opening of the Stainton Aqueduct, and celebrate 200 years' since the opening of the Lancaster Canal.
As usual for a Jogging Pals event we will be looking to bring a family friendly, social and inclusive event that welcomes everyone. You can bring the kids and either walk the route, or jog or run if you’re feeling a bit more energetic – the intention is that everyone taking part enjoys a fun day in the South Lakeland countryside and along the towpath of the historic canal.
The route is flat and, for the majority of the trail, follows the canal towpath. Whilst not smooth tarmac, it is in good condition and is a combination of grass and gravel.
Thanks to J36 Exhibition Centre, we'll be starting at their premises from where the route passes through Millness, Crooklands and Stainton before reaching the amazing Hincaster Tunnel. At this point, participants will turn and re-trace the route back to the start.
